London Sex Survey: Part II

Yesterday we looked at the first half of Time Out's London sex survey - but I've saved the juicy bits for today. We've already established that men would like to have sex nearly twenty-five times a week, and consider flirting on an online dating site to be acceptable within a relationship, but what else does the survey reveal about the city's sex life that might help us get to grips with the London dating scene?

Time Out asked what injuries Londoners have received in their pursuit of sexual gratification. The answers ranged from getting concussion from headbutting the headboard, to carpet burns to (deep breath) 'my partner's long nails scratching my vagina'. Nice.

When asked to give their sexual appetite a rating, a minute 2% of male respondents went for 'low', against 14% of women. All other respondents declared their sexual appetite 'healthy' - a relief for all the adult dating services!

And in another boost for adult dating, on a scale of 1-5 women rated their kinkiness as 3.3, and men 3.5. 13% of men and 5% of girls said they were 'practically perverted'.

Londoners are keen on their sexual fantasies, with 27% revealing that their fantasy involved sleeping with more than one person at the same time. One rather honest chap admitted that his fantasy involved his girlfriend's mum and sister. Kinky. Lots of fantasies involved an element of exposure, and the threat of being caught. One bloke fancies having sex wearing tights, as long as the woman is wearing them too...

Role play rates very highly in Londoner's dating lives. One person wanted to be used as a 'fuck-toy' by female robots, and another liked acting the naughty schoolgirl. Ah, the classics are the best!

And the question that anyone on the dating scene has asked themselves repeatedly - how soon is it all right to have sex? And thank god that 52% of men and 39% of women say the first date is acceptable. Phew.

When asked what turned them on, many respondents said handcuffs. A couple said 'armpits', and even 'sweaty socks' featured. Spanking was a particularly popular sexual pastime.

It sounds like we're all going at it like rabbits, but that doesn't mean us Londoners don't have our insecurities. Men seem not to like their 'hairy anuses', and women their stomachs, body hair and boobs.

Despite all this, Londoners are clearly enjoying getting their ends away on a regular basis. And with the plethora of free dating services and online dating sites available, there's no reason why you can't find yourself an enthusiastic bed partner to put some of London's favourite sexual pastimes to the test!
