Dating Disasters # 124

My worse date was a blind date back in 2003.  I had moved to London and had re-established contact with an old school friend, Rachel.  I was quite keen to meet someone as London can be a lonely city when you first get there.  My friend was seeing this guy who had lots of single friends so they hooked me up on a blind date.  I was nervous because I had never done this sort of thing before but Rachel said she had met him once and he seemed really nice.  So we arranged to meet in a local bar before moving onto a restaurant.  He was half an hour late and I was just about to leave when he walked in.  He seemed preoccupied and kept looking over my shoulder and I could sense that something wasn't right by the time we had a few drinks he had relaxed a bit so I agreed to go on for dinner despite my reservations.  We sat down in the restaurant and made small talk and suddenly he looked up completely shocked.  'Oh no not again' cried a woman across the restaurant and he jumped up and ran towards her ushering her outside.  I could see him talking to her and pointing and then he just ran off leaving me with the bill!  I later found out that he wasn't single at all and the girl in the restaurant was her wife's sister!
