6 Secrets Men Keep from Women

We all have our secrets, and never more than when it comes to dating. If men and women told each other the truth during the dating process, chances are the end of the human race would have happened many centuries ago...  Whether it's bending the truth on an internet dating profile, or supplying a rather 'flattering' photograph to whatever dating service you're using, we're most of us guilty of being rather liberal with the truth.

But certain truths (or guarded secrets) are rather harder to swallow than others - and this holds particularly true when it comes to the things blokes tell their mates that they'd never tell their partner:

1.       We've long suspected it to be true, but yes, it really is all about S.E.X. Men adore women who like getting down and dirty in the sack. Fact. Check out the adult dating sites, and you'll see what I'm talking about.

2.       A man is much more likely to feel in a romantic mood if his woman isn't nagging him. If you want him to take the rubbish out, tell him. Don't hint, don't sulk, just ask him to take the rubbish out. It's as simple as that.

3.      The world would be a boring place if men and women liked the same thing - and men do tend to love things that most women hate. Motorbikes, guns, comics, action films. If they tell you they don't like these things, they probably just want to sleep with you. (Not that there's any harm in that - just don't be fooled into thinking otherwise...)

4.      Similarly, if you start dating a bloke who says he likes chick flicks, he probably just wants to sleep with you. (And girls, if you saw on a bloke's online dating profile that he liked Bridget Jones, would you actually want to sleep with him?)

5.      Men might fancy a cuddle when they're in the mood for sex, or when they're trying to impress you during the initial dating phase, but they don't want a cuddle just to warm up their girlfriend's freezing arse, feet or other body bits. Don't treat your man like your very own radiator.

6.      Women - avoid at all costs the phrase 'let's talk'. You'll never win a conversation that begins that way. That's never. Most men don't really want to hear what you have to say - and when they do, that's only ever when you've just started dating. Give up trying. Put on Bridget Jones instead.
